The Art of Dancing - horse and Horse - dancing on Ancient Silk Road

西域自古以产名马著称于世,西域人民很早就开始将“天马”驯化为舞马,供人取乐。舞马技艺经过嬗变形成了古老而著名的马舞艺术。本文以历史的视角对舞马和马舞艺术的产生和演变进行了勾勒,以之来管窥历史上西域与中原文化艺术的交流情况。

Western China was once famous for its horses. Tianma horse was tamed to become a kind of dancing horse by local people for the purpose of entertainment. Afterwards this special dancing form changed into a new form of dancing which was the imitating of the jumping horses acted by people. The later dancing form was also very famous in history. This article intented to trace the origin and the changing process of these two forms of dancing from the view of history, and to reflect the culture and art communication between the people in western region and center region in China during specific historic periods.
