The United States' Bilateral Free Trade Agreements and Environmental Issues

从进入21世纪以来,美国积极投入到双边自由贸易协定的谈判之中,并且已取得了令人瞩目的成果。在这些协定中都设有专门的“环境”一章来协调签字国之间的环境问题。本文分析了美国将贸易政策的重心转向双边自由贸易协定的原因,以美澳自由贸易协定为例介绍了“环境”部分的内容,并分析了美国在双边自由贸易协定中规定环境条款的原因,以及对我国的启示。

Since 2000, the United States has been enthusiastic about negoti ating bilateral free trade agreements, and gained striking achievements. Among t hese agreements, there is a escpecial chapter about 'environment' which is to co ordinate the environmental issues between the signatory states. In this article, we analyze the reasons why the United States turned the focus of its trade poli cies to bilateral free trade agreement, introduce the content of the chapter of 'environment' in the US-Australia Free Trade Agreement, and then analyze the rea sons why the United States makes the regulation of environment in bilateral free trade agreements and the inspiration to our country.
