Contemporary Explanation of Cultural Classics of Lu Hsun ——Speech on International Seminar of Study of Lu Hsun for 20 Years

鲁迅文化经典包含着丰富的现代性因素,对鲁迅文化经典的解读与阐释,既是文化上的寻根认祖,也是对现实生活中某些缺失的针砭和疗治。鲁迅研究应该在积极意义上参与当今时代,自觉地回应新时期现代化的思想文化主题,使其恒久的文化意蕴能与现实的社会需求有机结合起来。

Lu Hsun's cultural classics include rich elements of modernity, explanation of that is not only the seeking for root of culture but the criticism and treatment of some defects in real life. Study of Lu Hsun should be put in present world and respond to the ideological and cultural theme of modernization so as to combine its lasting cultural significance with the real social demands.
