After 1695 Linfen large earthquake, the central government of Qing Dynasty and the local civil and mili tary authorities of Shanxi province had taken a series of disaster relief measures, including: dispatching the cen tral and local civil and military important officials to the on-site, carrying the disaster relief measures into practice, burying the died men in the earthquake, cleaning the disaster on-site; punishing the criminals, sta- blzing the society order;instituting the relief criterions,publishing the policy and measures for reducing or ex- emptting from taxation and restoring economy; strict punishing the officials for hardless disaster relief, and raising fund for disaster relief, and so on. Above situation is of great significance for strenthening synthetic preventin system of the focal mornitoring and preventing area.
