地理信息系统在政府机关的应用形成了政府地理信息系统的专门研究和应用领域。在论述了政府地理信息系统的基本概念和技术特征之后 ,重点讨论政府地理信息系统的目标、建设模式、总体设计、数据库建设、软件系统开发、数据通信及系统应用等。

Application of geographic information system in field of government agencies creates the special research and application subject of government geographic information system(GGIS). In this paper, having described the basic concept and technical features of GGIS, the following problems are discussed in detail, including objectives of GGIS, establishment models, overall design of systems, building data base, development of software, data communication and system application.
