The Yandangshan Geologic Heritage is a Cretaceous revived caldera. Through comparing with other similar geologic heritages of global volcanic belts, its scientific value is evaluated. Yandangshan is a typical example of Cretaceous calderas within eastern Asian continent margin, includes all sorts of rhyolitic products, and can be regarded as both a natural museum of rhyolitic rocks and a natural window of tectono-magmatic process in the Asian continent margin. Yandangshan blends the remarkable scientific values, marvelous spectacles and pronounced mountains-and-waters cultures together, which is especially rare all over the world.
