The Dafang lacquer art of Guizhou occupies a special stage in China lacquer art. There were two different types in the Qing Dynasty among Yi people and Han people. The former one declined with time going by while the latter was handed down up to now. Dur- ing the historical development, the special covert lacquer ware with leather padding came into being in the local place, the only one in China. Due to the high cost and complicated technique, it had stopped production thirty years ago. Now it had better take rescu- ing and recording steps to protect such an art to exert its supreme utility. As to other lacquer art without necessity of protection, it shall develop and make use according to the normative marketing principles.
