What is the Follow-up of Form

“形式追随什么”是建筑设计理论的核心问题。长期以来尤以“形式追随功能”的影响最为广泛。本文针对这一观点的局限性进行了多方的比较和分析,并指出问题的关键并不在于答案,而在于其背后所隐含的认为建筑形式的生成具有逻辑因果关系的思维定势。

The follow-up of form is a heart of the matter in architec-tural design theory. Especially, the influence of 'form follows func-tion' has been widespread over a long period of time. Aiming at thelimitation of this viewpoint, the author makes comparison and analysisin many ways and points out that the key problem lies not in the solu-tion itself but in the fixed pattern of thinking, i.e. there exists a logicalcausality in the formation of architectural form.
