This paper discusses the mechanical, physiological and biomecha- nical preciples of rowing. It intorduces the hardware and software of the control of the Isokinetic Rowing Trainer by a microcomputer. The Isokinetic Rowing Trainer hasbeen designed so that it can really simulate the procession of the rowing. At the same time, the equipment can competite with any lev- el's athlate, which is imitaied by a microcomputer. So it can arouse more a- musement and competition. The equipment will provide a good tool for model training.
