句法比较在英汉比较语言学中一直是"说不清、理还乱",其中一个重要原因在于汉语方面还没有形成句子的统一标准和概念,许多语言学家从主题、述题的语义角度分析汉语句子,然后再与英语比较,这是向前进的一大步,但这样却出现了英汉两种语言比较的尺度不统一的问题。对这方面的研究进行综述,提出认知语言学中的一些理论如果用于这种比较,尤其是对于以往比较中的"疑难病症"会更有解释力。

The disagreement on Chinese sentence patterns is a big obstacle on the way of the contrastive studies of English and Chinese syntactics. The analysis of Chinese sentence patterns on the basis of theme and rheme raises the problem of the disorder of the contrastive criteria.
