Cultural Hybridizing and Cultural Unbalancing——The Status Quo Faced by Translators

文化杂合现象变得越来越普遍,文化失衡己是一个不争的事实。文化失衡会加剧文化的杂合,对弱势文化(包括价值观)造成冲击,同时文化杂合又有助于改变文化失衡的现状。面对文化杂合与文化失衡,译界应该避免狭隘的民族主义态度,利用杂合的积极面,共同探讨可行性措施。在翻译策略上,面向强势文化的读者的异化翻译具有积极作用。因此,正确地把握杂合的尺度是译者努力的方向。

With the coming of globalization, cultural hybridizing becomes more widespread. And so does cultural unbalancing. While cultural unbalancing intensifies cultural hybridizing, which gives a great impetus to weak culture, cultural hybridizing changes cultural unbalancing. Faced with the status quo, translators should avoid narrow nationalism and make use the positive side of hybridizing so as to approach to useful translating strategies.
