摘要
传统英语教学语法认为to在动词原形前只起不定式符号的作用,没有词汇意义。这一错误对英语教学造成了严重的消极影响。本文通过对传统教学语法对其称为不定式的论述错误的分析,运用词汇学原理,从to的词义出发,讨论和探讨这一语法范畴,从而归纳概括出一条较为实用的语法规则。
Traditional English pedagogical grammar assumes that to in an infinitive has no lexical meaning and serves merely as a marker of the infinitive.The view has caused much confusion in the EFL classroom.In the light of lexicology, this study attempts to disprove the view and formulate a more reliable rule governing the use of to by exploring its primary meaning.
