委婉语是人类文明社会发展在语体上的体现和反映。它的使用面极广,既涉及社会政治及各行业,又包括人类生老病死,婚丧嫁娶,本文拟从其表现手法及主要社会功能方面,对委婉语的使用和特点作些归纳和介绍。
