中西礼貌语用差异成因探析

Studies on the Reasons for Difference between Chinese and Western Politeness Pragmatics

从中西方礼貌原则的对比可以得出,中方偏重于贬己尊人,西方偏重于得体真实。这种差异主要源于不同民族文化的思维方式和民族性格。汉民族有机整体的思维定势和群体取向影响了其谦和谨慎、含蓄内向、仁慈宽厚的民族性格;而注重个体思维定势和个人主义取向的西方民族由此形成冒险竞争、独立自信、坦率真诚的民族性格。

This thesis compares the difference between Chinese and Western politeness pragmatics and the reasons can be traced back to the different traditional thinking models and nations characters. The traditional thinking model of Chinese people is characterized by their holistic and group orientation, which also cultivate their modest, courteous, reserved, dependable and kind characters; while the westerners prefer to the individualism orientation and their characters are independent, competing, frank and sincere.
