摘要
为了实现符合JPEG2000标准的图像压缩编码器的设计,提出了基于JPEG2000的优化截断的嵌入式分块编码(EBCOT)的VLSI结构,在该结构中采用过程并行处理的方法对位平面上的三个过程并行处理。相对于过程顺序处理方法,过程并行处理对内部状态变量存储器容量的需求降低了1/5,同时处理速度得到很大提高,能达到整个JPEG2000编码系统实时处理的要求。
The embedded block coding with an optimized truncation (EBCOT) is the most important technique in JPEG2000.The operation occupies more than half of computation time of the whole compression time. A VLSI architecture of EBCOT encoder was developed for JPEG2000 encoder design. This encoder uses parallel processing of three passes at a bit plane, which greatly speeds up the coding processing and reduces the need to memorize.
