The Acdemic Research Summary of New Urbanism in Foreign Countries and in China

"新城市主义"运动是20世纪80年代在美国兴起的一股城市规划和设计运动,经过20多年的发展其影响力以及超出美国,到达欧洲、大洋洲、亚洲的许多国家和地区。因此,本文从其产生、代表人物和实践、理论发展、国内外期刊文章研究进展这几个方面系统地总结了其发展历程。

New Urbanism is a city planning and design movement,it sprung up in America in the 80s of 20th Century.And after more than twenty years development,its impact has now grown out of America,which sprawls out to many countries and districts of Europe,Oceania and Asia.So,this article tries to summarize the academic development of New Urbanism from several main aspects of its development,like its development background,its representative persons and their practice,its academic organization’s activities and its scholarly journals etc.
