毛泽东在晚年探索过程中出现严重的失误是与其晚年的哲学思想分不开的。毛泽东晚年失误的哲学原因具体表现在:在思想路线上,背离了自己一贯倡导的"实事求是"认识论原则,犯了经验主义的错误;在群众路线问题上,沿用革命战争年代的作法,最终陷入了三大误区;在矛盾学说理论上,与实践相脱离,特别是在矛盾分析方法问题上陷入了主观片面性。

There are three main philosophic reasons that caused Mao Zedong's mistakes in his later years: First, the ideological line of 'seeking truth from the facts' was substituted by empiricism. Second, the mass line got into three troubles. Third, the theory of contradiction departed from its practice.
