A Linear Program Applied to Afforesting River—side Land with Poplar-Trees

为充分发挥河滩地优势、改造低产林、建设速生丰产林基地,对朝阳县六家子林场河滩林进行了全面调查研究,运用数量化理论、系统工程方法,划分了立地类型、确定了主栽树种、建立了最优设计方案、提出了总体规划设计,为速生林基地建设中的适地适树、优质高产、低成本提供了科学依据。

In order to bring the productive potentiality of land into full play, to improve low—yielding forest and to establish fast growing forest bases, 10000 mu of plantations along river banks was investigated. By means of the theory of quantification Ⅰ and system engineering, the area studied was classified into 54 site types. Suitable tree species for afforestation were determined and optimum design was made. This provided scientific basis for establishing low cost and high yielding forest.
