Based on analyzing the operating characteristics of the diesel engines and the load-speed characteristics of the working machines of a drill rig, the author expounds the prerequisites for the stable operation of the diesel-rig system.points out that the main factors influencing the operating stability of the whole system include the torque stiffness and the way of speed regulating of the diesels and the characteristic load factor of the rig's working machines.
