The Psychotherapy as a Tool of Culture

2 0世纪 80年代中后期以来兴起的文化心理学和文化建构主义心理学是心理学中一个较新的理论视角。尤其是后者对心理学的现代叙事进行了彻底的解构。本文试从这一角度重新审视心理治疗 ,通过一个具体案例 ,把心理治疗置于社会文化和意识形态的背景框架中进行分析 ,视其为执行文化问询、社会控制和建构新世界功能的文化工具。最后 ,本文对这一角度的地位和作用作了简单的评价。

Since the late 1980s, the cultural and narrative view of psychology has gained popularity among psychological theories and practices. This view of psychology situates psychotherapy as a cultural practice among other cultural forms and types of social discourse. In examining how psychotherapy serves as a cultural instrument, I will draw on a specific case from Carl Rogers' therapeutic practices. The utility of this perspective are further discussed in terms of the need for cultural inquiry, issues of social control, and the therapist' role in an activity that is inherently moral in nature. At the end of this paper,a brief commentary is offered concerning the usefulness of this view and what we should do in the following studies.
