颜元继承了中国历史文化的深厚传统,与刚刚东渐的泰西学术结合,把握时代精神,提出了与传统观念不同乃至相悖的实学教育思想并"习行"之。
Yan Yuan inherits the profound tradition of the Chinese historical culture, and combines the western learning. Furthermore, he is prompt in proposing his educational thoughts of pragmatism, which is different from, or even contrary to, the traditional concept.
