Struts is an open source framework for developing Web applications using the popular Model-View-(Controller) (MVC) or Model 2 architectural pattern. Struts comes with a large set of reusable tags for which the Tiles tag library makes an excellent enhancement. Struts and Tiles use layout and template to attain flexibility of the framework and the reuse of the code. The article illustrates the theory and the advantages of Struts and Tiles and implements a simple example of configuration with Struts and Tiles.
