In Turgenev's works, there are a lot of female images who have a strong will and pursue the ideal love with persistence, in the meantime there are also a lot of male images who are cowardly and weak-willed. These two kinds of images have formed the male and female worlds which are not equivalent. This shows the author's disappointment to the whole male society. It is also the best conclusion to those noble intellectuals who have already finished their own historical tasks.
