A CYTOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION ON POLLEN ABORTION IN NUCLEO-CYTOPLASMIC MALE STERILE LINES OF BARLEY

摘要 雄性不育系在作物的杂种优势利用中具有重要的价值。研究其花粉败育过程有利于了解败育机理。 The characters of pollen abortion innucleo-cytoplasmic male sterile lines oftwo-rowed and six-rowed barley subvarie-ties were observed during each stageof pollen development by crushing andparaffin section.The two subvarietiesshow a simillar pollen abortive process.Theabnormal chromosomal condense of mothercell in prophase of meiosis results in col-lapse of itself.The abortion produced nopollen.We suggested that pollen abortionwas resulted from that the nucleo-gene cannot express correctly in allogenic cytopla-sm for nucleo-cytoplasmic male sterile li-nes.
