Simplicity and Fertility——On Literary Creation Style of Essayist Group from White Horse Lake

1920年代初以来,以丰子恺、夏尊、朱自清、叶圣陶为代表的"白马湖散文作家群"的文章清淡隽永,在内容与形式、思想与艺术的辩证统一中,歌唱出他们与众不同的声音,表现出了独特的平实质朴、英华内敛、返璞归真、温润腴厚的艺术风格。

Ever since the beginning of 1920s, a group of essayists from White Horse Lake, headed by Feng Zi-kai, Xia Mian-zun, Zhu Zi-qing and Ye Sheng-tao, have gained wide popularity for their delicate and meaningful essays. They voiced differently with their counterparts through wonderful integration between content and form, idea and art, and showed their unique artistic style of simplicity, implicity, originality and fertility.
