In recent years, dropping pills have become one of the research foci in the pharmaceutics field owing to their specific advantages, such as high bioavailability, fast acting, simple production technology, low cost and so on. Recent studies on its characteristics, kinds, matrices, production technology and methods for their quality control were reviewed.
