本文根据语言教学理论和笔者主编“2 1世纪研究生英语”系列教材的实践 ,分析了 2 1世纪的时代特征和语言教学规律 ,研究了 2 1世纪研究生英语教材编写的指导思想和编写原则 ,提出了 2 1世纪研究生英语教材编写的总体构成 ,探讨了 2 1世纪研究生英语教材编写中的选材和练习设计等问题。

This paper,based on the language teaching theories and the practice of our compiling the Graduate English textbook series for the 21st century, analyses the characteristics of the 21st century and language teaching & learning. It presents the guideline and principle of compiling graduate English textbook for the 21st century. It proposes the course design of graduate English textbook for the 21st century, and it deals with the problems of language materials and exercise design in compiling graduate English textbook for the 21st century.
