翻译研究的实证方法是继思辨方法、理论方法之后的又一种重要方法,因其在译学中的应用还不够广泛,有待更多的认识与探讨。本文将对实证方法主要应用形态、内在逻辑、发展空间以及相关问题进行一些基本的论述。

Even though the utility of the empirical approach to translation studies is generally recognized, as a newly developed method it has yet to be extensively applied and much about it remains under-thematized. This article attempts to supply the gap by focusing its attention on this particular method. Following a close examination of the primary modes of its application, and a careful reconstruction of its inner logic, the co-authors speculate on its potentials for further development and go on to offer a tentative evaluation of the effects, both positive and negative, which adopting the empirical approach tends to produceon the study of translation.
