谈汉语人名翻译的规范问题

On the Problems of Romanizing Chinese Names

在使用罗马拼音文字拼写汉语人名时,产生了各种不同的形式,除汉语拼音以外,影响较大的有明朝末年利玛窦和金尼阁的拼写方案、鸦片战争后的教会罗马字、威妥玛-翟理斯式拼音、国语罗马字、拉丁化新文字等等,这些不同的形式造成了姓名翻译的混乱现象。本文分析了产生混乱的各种原因,并提出了相应的解决方法。

In Romanizing Chinese names, various forms appear, which causes a great confusion in spelling Chinese names. Besides the Pinyin System, the most influential ones include the Ricci-Trigault System, the Church Romanization, the Wade-Giles System, the Guoyu Romanization and the Latinized New Words. This paper analyzes the various causes for the confusion and puts forward some suggestions for the solution.
