With the development of network interconnection and electricity market in power system,the techniques in power system digital simulation will experience new changes and progresses. Firstly,the concept of power system simulation and its application is introduced;then the current status of mathematical models and algorithms in power system simulation is presented,and the requriment to evaluate the rightness and veracity of mathematical models is discussed. Finally the paper points out the trends of development on digital simulation techniques in power systems are introduced,which can be used as references in the future.
