连铸的可浇铸宽度一直在稳定增加,已有几台连铸机成功地浇铸了宽度3-3.2m的板坯。2004年,奥钢联在中国南京钢铁有限公司调试了世界上最宽的中厚板坯连铸机,以拉速2m/min生产3.25m宽的板坯。该连铸机是在奥钢联许多宽度大干2m的传统连铸机和中厚板坯连铸机的基础上建成的,其宽厚比达到“近终型”浇铸。本文讨论奥钢联在宽板坯连铸方面的能力和专长。宽板坯连铸设计的关键在于结晶器内的注流状况,结晶器、铸坯导向段的支撑和二冷喷淋的设计以及连铸自动化。
Ever since the inception of continuous casting of slab sections the maximum castable slab width has steadily increased. Several slab casters are now successfully operation with slab widths between 3m and 3.2m.During 2004,VAI commissioned the World's widest slab caster in Nanjing Iron and Steel Co., NISCO,in P. R. China.This new medium thickness slab caster will produce slabs up to 3.25m wide at speeds of up to 2m/min. The NISCO Caster builds on the success of many VAI slab casters for widths greater than 2000mm for both conventional as well as medium thickness slabs, where the width to thickness ratio makes the process ' near net shape' . This paper will describe VAI' s competence and expertise in wide slab casting. Critical areas of wide slab caster design will be examined including mould steel flow conditions, mould design, strand guide support design, secondary spray cooling design and caster automation.
