The paper outlined the technical characteristics of municipal solid waste (MSW) incineration and the paper stated the present application status,existing problems and the research and development of the MSW incineration technology in China.The paper analyzed and stated the principle,characteristics and advantages of the gasification and pyrolysis technology for MSW. The paper pointed out that the gasification and pyrolysis technology would be the development tendency of the heat treatment technology for MSW.
