Speeding up the Planning, Investigation and Design Works to Establish the Jinshajiang Hydropower Base Sooner

金沙江水量丰沛而稳定,落差大而集中,可装机7512万kW,年发电量可达3555亿kW·h,占全国可开发容量和电量的20%和19%,其水资源的富集程度居世界之首。多年来,由于受地理位置和地区经济的制约,这一“富矿”未能开发。随着我国国民经济的发展,早日开发金沙江水能资源将对缓解我国东南部地区电力紧张的局面,改善我国的能源结构、产业结构和长江上游生态环境,促进西南及东南地区经济发展有重要的意义和作用。

The Jinsha River with plenty and stable water flow and high concentrated drops is rich in hydropower potential. It has an exploitable capacity of 75120MW and a corresponding annual energy output of 355.5TWh, according for 20 percent and 19 percent of the country's total respectively. With the development of our national economy, exploiting the hydropower resources of the river will be of great significance to reducing the tension of power supply in the regions of southeast China, improving the consUtution of energy sources and industries and the ecological environment of the upper Changjiang River ,and promoting the economic of development in Southeast and Southwest China.
