New Evidences for "Khitan Reading a poem" in Yijian Zhi

据《夷坚志》记载,契丹小儿在学汉语时往往会无谓地颠倒两个等立分句的次序。本文指出这种现象在西夏人翻译汉语文献时也曾出现,它应该是当时初学者的共同习惯。

Yijian Zhi told us that khitan children used to unreasonablely invert the order of two co - ordinate clauses in learning Chinese. It is pointed out in the present paper that such facts also oc-cured in the Tangut translation of Chinese literature, which must have been a common custom of beginners at that time.
