A Discourse on the Classification and Procedure of Social Investigations

社会调查是调查者为了了解社会现象的状况和社会发展规律而通过感官和仪器对于社会现象进行的调查。社会调查为了解社会发展的规律奠定基础 ,为评价活动和决策活动提供事实依据。社会调查可以按照多种标准进行划分。社会调查包括调查前的准备工作、实际调查、调查资料的整理、调查资料的研究和撰写调查报告五个步骤。

In order to understand the situation of social phenomenon and the laws of development of society, investigators make investigations by sense organs and instruments, which is the social investigation. Social investigation can lay a foundation to the understanding about the laws of development of society; provide a factual basis for appraisal activities and policy- making activities. According to certain standards, social investigations can be divided into preparations, practical investigations, sorting out the materials, studying, and writing the investigation report.
