The craft of the narrative pictorial designs on the bronzes of the Eastern Zhou period can be divided into three types:engraved designs,cast designs and inlaid designs.The engraved designs mainly find in Wu and Chu area and Three-Jin.The cast designs are popular in Three-Jin and the neighbouring area.The inlaid designs are prevalent in Three-Jin and Yan-Dai area.The formation of the different regional styles of the narrative pictorial designs on the bronzes of the Eastern Zhou period is closely related with the mainstream of local ideas and the traditional craft.
