彭树智教授主编的《阿拉伯国家简史》突出了阿拉伯史发展的总特征、总趋势，并从历史交往的角度为世界地区史研究提供了新思路。但美中不足的是对２０世纪的中阿关系关注不够。

The influential book A Concise History of Arabic Countries edited by Professor Peng Shuzhi puts emphasis upon the general characteristics and main trend of Arabic history. It also provides new ideas for the historical research on regions in the world from the angle of civilization intercourse. However the author has more or less ignored the relation between the Arabic world and China in the 20th century.
