Liu Yong was not only an well known virtuous official but a typical in tellectual bureaucrat.Historians almost ignored him because of insufficient historical materials.Liu Yong played an active role in persecuting intelligentsia in the reign of Qianlong,but politically he made few contributions.His behaviors and activities was solely constrained and determined by political situation and his historical background.
