Logistics during the Jempest\|Recalling Logistics Support in the korean War

党中央决定出兵朝鲜后 ,我为东北军区后勤司令部政委 ,负责组建战勤保障系统和调配干部的工作。由于这次出国作战是直接面对高度现代化的美国军队 ,前线的供应不能像在国内时那样由敌人提供 ,而是全要靠国内运送 ,因此需要建立可靠的后勤保障体系。针对后勤工作中出现的诸多新情况和新问题 ,我三赴朝鲜 ,了解新形势下志愿军对后勤工作的要求 ,组织发动干部群众往前线抢运食品、武器装备等物资 ,调配干部以加强前线的后勤保障能力 ,并及时总结工作经验 。

Following the CCP Center's decision to send troops to Korea,I was a member of the Northeast Military Districts Logistics Department and took charge of developing the logistics support system and allocating cadres.This war was a direct confrontation with the technologically sophisticated US military,so the front line could not rely on taking its supplies from the enemy,as it did in the civil war,and it was totally reliant on supplies sent from home;hence the need for a reliable logistics support system.Faced with these new challenges,I went to Korea to size up the logistics needs of the volunteer troops,and I mobilized officials and the masses to send food,weapons and other supplies to the front line.I also transferred cadres to strengthen logistics support.
