HFC网络MAC协议的研究

Research on MAC layer protocol in HFC network

混合光纤同轴 (HFC)网络结构是目前很有竞争力的用户宽带接入网方案 .IEEE80 2 .14工作组致力于 HFC网络物理层 (PHY)和介质访问控制 (MAC)层的协议标准化工作 ,并于 1998年 4月形成了一个草案 [1,2 ] .在此草案的基础上 ,通过编程仿真 MAC层协议的操作过程 ,得到了系统的吞吐量和时延等性能指标的定量结果 ,并着重讨论了协议中的头端服务规则、携带申请能力和申请时隙数目等因素对系统性能的影响 .

At present, the Hybrid Fiber/Coax network architecture is one competitive solution of resident broadband access network. The IEEE 802.14 working group has standardized the protocol of PHY & MAC layers in HFC network, and ended with a draft in April 1998. Based on the draft, this paper simulates the MAC layer operations, and the system performance such as throughput and package delay is obtained. Some factors affecting the performance such as the headend service rule, the piggyback request ability and the request slot number are also discussed. The conclusions obtained have the guiding significance for system design.
