Abstract: Diamond drill rod is easily broken. After many years research, a tool joint with coni- cal wide tip thread by frictionwelding are adopted so as to reduce dramatically the accident of dsill rod broken. Also, the rod is good in seal, thus thread burning is avoided, a satisfied benefit is achieved.
