Lifelong Education and the Reform of Higher Education

社会发展的迅速，知识增长和更新速度的加快，人们在某一时期所获得的知识根本无法满足其在现代社会生活中的需要和个人一生的发展需要，我们必须树立终身学习的思想。目前高等教育的当务之急是转变教育观念，树立新的学习观，强调学生学会学习的方法和能力，为学生终身学习提供工具和指导；调整高等教育的课程结构，由过去的单纯专业知识传授型课程结构转变为专业知识、职业技能、素质教育、实践活动等综合能力培养与为终身学习服务的延伸课程相结合的合理的课程结构。

With the rapid development of society and the speeding up of broadening and renewing knowledge, the knowledge one acquired at certain period can't meet the needs of his life in modern society and of the personal development of his life. So one must have the idea of learning all his life. The present pressing task of higher education is change the idea of education, establish a new outlook on learning and emphasize students thought, learning method and ability, which are tools and guides to students' lifelong learning. Besides, the course structure of higer education should be transformed from the purely teaching specialized knowledge to the combination of specailzed knowledge, professional skills, comprehensive ability education and the training of practical activity ability with some extended courese useful to students' lifelong learning, which is considered as a reasonable coures structure.
