“毕摩”≠“巫师”

"Bimo" ≠ "Wizard"

“奚婆”是元、明时期从事彝族原始宗教活动的人员。元、明、清初 ,“奚婆”沿变为专司宗教职事的“毕摩”和从事巫术活动的“苏尼”。对比研究后本文认为 ,对彝族“毕摩”的界定与诠释宜选用宗教色彩较明显的术语“祭司”而不应采用迷信色彩较浓厚的“巫师”。

The 'Sīpò' were the type of persons who undertook the Yi people's primitive religious activities during the Yuan-Ming Dynasties. In the early Qing Dynasty, the 'Sīpò' were divided into two groups: the 'Bimo', whose obligation was to undertake religious affairs, and the 'Sunt', who devoted themselves to carrying out witchcraft or wizardry. It is suggested that 'Bimo' should be defined and connotated in a more religious term 'Jisi'(priest) instead of a superstitious one 'Wushi' (witch or wizard).
