On the narrative techniques of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury

《喧哗与骚动》以生动的创作主题和独特的艺术手法代表了福克纳创作的最高成就。小说以时空变换、多角度叙述、意识流、基督教原型等多种艺术手法写出了种植园主康普生家族几十年间的兴衰与沉浮 ,并以此展示南方社会的腐败与解体。本文尝试从 :1 约克纳帕塔法体系 ;2 时空变换、多角度叙述 ;3 意识流手法 ;4 基督教原型等方面来揭示福克纳在语言操作。

With a lively theme and unique narrative techniques, Faulkner'sThe Sound and the Fury falls among his greatest literary achievements. He uses modern literary techniques chronological juxtaposition, multianalysis, stream-of-consciousness, Christian archetype to depict the ups and downs of the Compsons and to reveal the decadence and disintegration of the Old South. The present article is an attempt to discuss Faulkner as a master in the use of language and narrative techniques as follows: (1) the Yoknapapawpha County; (2) chronological juxtaposition and multianalysis; (3) stream-of-consciousness technique; 94) Christian archetype.
