摘要
詹姆斯·乔伊斯的《尤利西斯》中的外聚焦叙述以贴近事件的见证人视角 ,客观地记录下纷乱嘈杂的事件 ,描绘出一个荒诞的外部世界。由于外聚焦叙述者无法进入到人物的内心中去 ,使人物的内心思想处于失语的状态 ,从而折射出现代社会人物内心彼此间疏离异化。因此外聚焦叙述所展现的外部世界的纷乱荒诞进一步映衬出人物意识流中内心世界的瘫痪 ,形成客观世界与内心思想在主题上的统一 。
The exterior focalized narration in James Jo yc e's Ulysses objectively records the chaos of events from a witness' perspect ive and consequently a external world of absurdity is revealed.As the external nar rator cannot enter into any character's inner mind and thus makes their inner th oughts blank,which reflects the alienation and separation among modern people.T herefore the chaotic exterior world narrated from exterior focalization masterly coordinates with the paralyzed spiritual world represented in characters' strea ms of consciousness,and they reach the unity of theme from both objective world and inner thoughts,and thus jointly expound the core of modern western spiritual wasteland.
