In this paper concepts of microbe equivalent and edibles equivalent etc.are defined. Dynamic models of coupling between the growth of microbes and substrate degradation are presented. Data gained from various experiments show that the models can reflect the regulation of the growth of microbes and the process of substrate degradation.
