This paper discusses the optimized Computer-aided Compilation of a hard failure dictionary. The optimal approach could reduce the size of a hard failure dictionary and is conducing to the diagnosis of post faults. In some cases,the same results can be achieved from both the approaches, the near-optimal and the optimal. Essentially, the techniques adopted here can be extended to the compilation of dictionaries in other areas.
