文章从图书情报学教育的中心性、经费、学术地位和信息产业的冲击4个方面,分析了美国图书情报教育当前的危机。认为我国图书情报教育几乎面临同样的问题并蕴藏着危机。我们必须树立坚定的改革意识,积极面向社会大环境,面向信息社会,面向图书馆自动化,并增强科研的生命力,才有望摆脱危机,使我国图书情报学教育进入一个新的历史时期。

By analyzing the actual crisis of American Library and Information Science education from 4 aspects: centrality,funds,academic status and impacts of information industry,the author thinks that the situation facedby the Chinese colleagues is almost the same,the crisis is imminent.To avoid this potential crisis,and make thecountry's library and information science education step into a new era,we must arm ourselves firmly with radicalreform ideas and take some concrete measures,including adapting ourselves to the social environment,to the in-formation society and to library modernization.
