The Extension of Information Service at a Research Institute:From Document Retrieval to Applicational Service of CD-ROM Based Numerical Database

文章简述了近十年来笔者利用我国引进的国外磁带文献数据库向研究所的科研人员宣传推广计算机文献情报检索的几个阶段,从为他们作 SDI 和 RS 入手,进而推广 CD-ROM 文献数据库检索服务,并利用套录技术和计算机通用软件累积资料和改进服务方式、提高服务效率,继而引进 Micro C-CDS/ISIS 软件并自建数据库检索系统,引进世界气象组织的数值型数据库 TOGA CD-ROM 只读光盘,拓宽了信息服务的领域和层次。

Discription is made on the stages of promoting computerized document and information retrieval utilizing theimported tape based databases to scientists by the writer in the last decade starting from SDI and RS for the scien-tists,the service has been extended to document retrieval from CD-ROM based text databases.Computerdown-loading and information accumulating are applied to improve the service stiles and efficiency.Micro-C-CDS/ISIS softwares are utilized and a retrieval system based on databases are established.The numer-ical database of TOGA CD-ROM by the WMO are utilized to further extend the information service.
