《三国演义》与《东同列国志》都崇尚“羽翼信史” ,但罗贯中的立意在小说历史化 ,冯梦龙则意在历史通俗化。两人在编纂技巧上也有很大不同。

Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Records of the States in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty uphold that words can preserve the true history, but Luo Guanzhong, author of the former, intends to historicize the novel while Feng Menglong, author of the latter, attempts to popularize the history. And what's more, the two authors differ considerably in editing skill.
